President John Dramani Mahama has wished all Christians in Ghana a Happy Easter.

and hopes that the festivity will “mark a new beginning” in their lives.

In his Easter message to Ghanaians on his facebook wall President Mahama wrote wished the festive season will 'mark a new beginning for our country, Ghana'

Below is his message

I bring you a message of Easter.

Easter marks the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It also marks his sacrifice to save the rest of mankind.

On behalf of the Government and People, I want to use the occasion of the Light House Chapel’s Crusade to express my best wishes to all Ghanaian Christians all over the country.

May the spirit of Easter mark a new beginning for our country, Ghana.

President Mahama on Good Friday joined the Leaders and members of the Light House Chapel International at the independence Square in Accra to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

At the service, he said: "In the spirit of Easter, I say that one of the things that we have to do as a nation is to cancel self-doubt. We see other nations and we admire them and we say Korea has made progress, Malaysia has made progress but that is because they believed that their nations can be great…But if half the time we say that we are useless and we can’t do it and we can’t go forward, you won’t go forward. You have to celebrate your successes one by one, and that is why I say count your blessings and name them one by one and it will amaze you what the Lord has done.”
