The residents at Walantu CP Top Hill Electoral Area in the Awutu-Senya East Constituency in the Central Region have been forced out of their homes due to the last Sunday, June 12, 2016 downpour.
According to the Assemblyman for Walantu Electoral Area, Hon. Bernard A. Dankwa, there have been several complains by the Municipal Assembly over some people have built to block the courses of the water whenever there is a downpour.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, Hon. Bernard Dankwa insisted several complains to the Municipal Assembly since he took office have hit deaf ears, making him incapacitated to deal with the situation anytime it rains.
He hinted the problems of Walantu Electoral Area to be that people have built fences to block roads meant for vehicular and gutter purpose as it channel the direction of the rain into the gutters.
He maintained that lack of drainage system at Walantu Electoral Area is the main cause of flooding hitting the homes of the residents and rendering them homeless.
