Mr Stephen Ashitey- Adjei Leader of the former workers of the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA ) who were laid off in 2002 under the government of former President Kuffour has accused Nana Akuffo Addo flag bearer of the NPP and President John Dramani Mahama of treating them( the ex-workers of GPHA) unfairly.
Speaking to Peace fm in interview Mr Stephen Ashitey- Adjei said Nana Akuffo Addo the then Attorney General and Minister of Justice under former President Kuffour failed to advice the NPP government to pay them their end- of –service benefit whilst President Mahama has also delayed in doing same.
He said government is usually quick in paying end-of-service benefit to Members of Parliament and Ministers of state but is hesitating to act promptly on their case.
According to Mr Stephen Ashitey-Adjei the GPHA has enough funds to ensure payment of the end-of –service benefits to the ex-workers if government gives the approval for the payment to be made.
