Armando Martinez, the Plant Director at the Dangote Cement factory in Nigeria has assured Ghanaians of the company's commitment to the production of the highest quality of cement.

Guided by Company's mission of meeting the need and satisfaction of its customers, he said, Dangote Cement has always employed a state of the art robotic quality assurance machines to ensure the elimination of error in production quality.

"...the machines and equipment here (at Dangote) are the best on the market and it is to guarantee the highest grade of cement on the market" he said in an exclusive interview from Ibese, Ogun State - Nigeria.

Mr. Martinez further advised Ghanaians to discard the claims by the Cement Association Manufacturers of Ghana (CMAG) that Dangote Cement has flooded the Ghanaian market with sub standard products and is also starting a price war.

To him, this is a tactic employed CMAG by to block fair competition which would only inure to the benefit of the consumer in the long run.

This comes on the heels of a press conference organized by CMAG, which currently comprises of GHACEM Limited and Diamond Cement Ghana Limited, to raise concerns about some happenings in the cement industry in Ghana.

In that encounter with the media, CMAG sought to create the impression that cement imported but bagged in Ghana, which includes that of Dangote cement were of inferior quality.

"another area of concern is the need to protect the integrity of buildings and structures in Ghana. cement producers are globally required to fulfill minimum cement standards for compressive strength set out by international standards including Ghana stnadards".

"imported cement whether bulk or bagged must therefore be tested and required a maximum 28 day compressive strength before release onto the market..." the CMAG statement read.

However, Armando Martinez is of the view that this statement is laced with mischief because the 28 day compressive strength test is one of many employed by the company and regulatory bodies before Dangote Cement hits the market.
