President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is to blame for the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said.
“The NDC is laying blame for this heinous and callous lynching of Captain Mahama at the doorstep of President Akufo-Addo,” the party said in a statement.
According to the party, Ghana has known no peace since the NDC, led by former President John Dramani Mahama, handed over power to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“Under the direct supervision of President Akufo-Addo, the state has watched and sponsored its goon squads to unleash wanton mayhem on innocent Ghanaians. From the beating up of a serving police officer at the Flagstaff House to the beating up of a regional security co-ordinator, the disruption of a court process, the burning of toll booths, and the molestation of civil servants, the lawless culture of impunity has now reached the doorstep of the Ghana Armed Forces,” the statement signed by its General Secretary Johnson Aseidu Nketia said.
The party noted that the acts of violence in the country were “unacceptable” and will sooner than later be compelled to engage in a legitimate social revolution to protest the inability of Nana Akufo-Addo to protect Ghanaians if this level of impunity persists.
The NDC said if Nana Akufo-Addo has come to the realisation that he is unable to manage the affairs of state, he should resign “so we get a more competent leader to lead Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana,” adding that they will "resist oppressors’ rule with all our will and might forevermore".
While condemning the “dastardly and barbaric lynching” of Mr Mahama the party also commiserated with the Ghana Armed Forces, Chief of Defence Staff, the widow, children, parents, and family of the deceased.
Captain Mahama was lynched by irate youth of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region on suspicion that he was an armed robber, after a group of residents from whom he asked for directions during a Monday dawn jogging session spotted a pistol on him.

IF YOU HAVE A POLITICAL PARTY GENERAL SECRETARY LIKE MOSQUITO, LOOK AT HOW POLITICS HAVE DRAIN YOUR MIND? YOU DON'T HAVE THE NATION AT HEART AT ALL. ALL WHAT YOU THINK IS POLITICAL POWER. MEANWHILE WHEN YOU WERE IN POWER WE SAW WORSE THINGS. YOUR PLANS TO MAKE NANA ADDO FAIL IS NOT GOING TO WORK. ALL YOUR EVIL PLANS WOULD SURELY BOUNCE BACK TO YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES LIKE KWAKU ANYIDOHO. SOME OF US ARE KEENLY WATCHING YOU.
These NDC leaders are just dummies and ***barred word***, how can you use someones painful death as politics. ***barred word*** people always waiting for an avenue to blame someone for their failure. God is watching you all

No wonder Ndc's are all ***barred word***.Look at the way your general secretary speaks. My class one son won't even talk like this.Ghanaians are wise now and will not follow your cheap propaganda's again.Did u see how humiliating u lost.
This is just propaganda. Don't just say anything because of politics. There is a loss to a family. Don't politicize it. We should all try put party colors behind now and forge together as a nation with a common goal. NDC/NPP all want it to be well for Ghana, but they have different approaches to do that. Now NPP is in power. This has nothing to do with the lynching. Please, gen. mosquito, we beg you, leave politics out of this. we are all mourning,if you are not.
these ndc people have proved beyond doubts to be illiterates. you label yourselves as citizens and always expect tragedies to befall the country in order for you to capitalize on that for your ***barred word*** politics. God will definitely speak in His own time, so continue with your bad deeds
The NPP people can continuou with their insults on NDC contributors in any issue in this country. They will regret it one day.
