The Kumasi International Airport went agog as scores of residents in the Kumasi Metropolis yesterday lined up on the streets to wave at the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, when he touched down at the Kumasi International Airport from Brazil.
Showing solidarity to the king, various groups in the Asante Kingdom such as the Ashanti Youth Association, Kumasi Youth Association and Asante Students Union as well as a retinue of chiefs, politicians and heads of the security services all lined up at the airport to welcome Otumfuo.
Others also held banners with the inscription: “Long live the King” and danced to rich traditional songs to usher in their king.
The Royal occupant of the Golden stool His Royal Highness Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also enjoyed a golden ride through the principal streets of Kumasi before finally taken to the Manhyia Palace where he was treated to traditional music.
Otumfuo’s Mawerehene, Baffour Osei Brentuo Hyiaman V, has however disclosed that the Manhyia Palace is not ready to respond to stories that emerged while he was away.
"The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has never responded to such issues and was not ready to respond to the recent one", he explained.

You have this amount and your people are suffering and you stil call yourself King. Are you not ashmed that you travel and come back to an airstrip which has been christened an international airport. What stops you from even building an airport and name it after yourself. And we have people that will do anything to support you even if you do wrong.
Don't even waste your breath wai...its a sad distin in some other parts of gh ooo...the ppl of Ashanti clearly don't feel bothered about their poor situation, unemployments, development, etc., so why are we getting all worked up about it...massa just forget and do u wai....
If they are telling you that they're matter is not a Ghana matter, obviously you can see level of ignorance that exists in them LOL...if the king's/ashanti matter is not a Ghanaian matter, them please stop calling yourselves Ghanaian and stop using a Ghanaian passport...
Lastly, who is inferior? What are we inferior about? Is that all you can say whenever Ashanti region gets into controversies? please, y'all needs to retire from that waiiii...ghana as a nation is field with rich cultures from all 10 regions...nobody jealous/envy you ppl...no one feels inferior to you AT ALL.aaaah, for what? is it because you have gold than the other regions? is it because of the golden stool that you ppl can't even touch (only idolize it)?, is it the Adowa and Kete dance? Oh puh-leeeeease...LOL
The reason why Ghana was once called "Gold Coast" was because the land was filled with gold all over...though some parts might not have more gold as Ashanti, every region in Ghana still have gold wai...and when it comes to rich culture, everyone see their culture as rich, so please kill that ignorance today....
The king of Ashanti is only king to the Ashantis and can NEVER be king to anyone else in Ghana...and yes, we kraaaa we don't want him...we are nation moving forward, and not interested in these primitivity...

We did the same for Rawlings but when he lost power, he left us with bad roads, unplanned cities and towns, lack of jobs, lack of housing and even lack of decent toilets. Then we did the same for Kufuor but when he lost power our situation didn't improve. Then we did the same for Mills but we got nothing in return. Then we did the same for Mahama and got nothing in return. The only one who gave us something in return was the one and only NKRUMAH. Will the Otumfuor also show appreciation to his people and do something for them??? He has all the opportunities in the world to do something good for the people of Kumasi.
Edom Ani sa nia oso ntakrakye. Even the bank has apologized, and all those passing evil comments will do same when their suffering start. nana piaaaww.
HMMMMM BLACKS,
Look at our roads in Kumasi, even the kings main road to his wife residence is very bad. instead of using ROYALTIES affirm to the throne to support and segment govt. effort like his forefathers did, he goes about depositing 350,000 pounds into a UK bank and ASANTIES we are not worried hmm God have mercies on us all.are there no banks in Ghana, i has different perception about our highness when he stated socialization with our formal president because we all know what that man stand for. how many of his predecessors had foreign accounts, they were all think about the future of the ASANTE EMPIRE and building IMAGES that we see today. MY HUMBLE WISH WILL BE THAT THE KING COUNCIL WILL BE BOLD ENOUGH TO TELL THE KING THE TRUTH BEHIND CLOSE DOOR TO PROTECT OUR HERITAGE.
His predecessor, the late Otumfour Opoku-Ware II was apolitical and a noble king. As far as I can remember, nothing bad was reported of him. He lived a noble life. I heard he was a lawyer before he was enthroned. I wish this king could learn from him. He is constantly becoming notorious!! Always bringing shame and dishonor to the Ashanti Kingdom.
the amount and manner of savings is too suspicious of an unlawful transactions.this is below the Great King. next time use the appropriate process to transfer all this sums.
the Asantehene should work hard to improve his public image and dignity. why cant he transfer such an amount through the banks. he would not even have to walk to the banks. why? Nana, why? some of your subjects would support you but they are all not st00ges and syc0phants.

let those with inferiority complex continue to insult and envy the noble king of Ashanti.
