The Maternal family of the late Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has hinted that the family will resist any move for the remains of the former veep to be buried in any place outside Moree in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese district of the central region.
The threat follows some reports that the paternal family and the National Democratic Congress(NDC) are making plans to have him buried at the Asomdwee Park where the late President Atta Mills was buried or be buried at the central regional capital Cape Coast where the late Amissah Arthur and his parents spent a large part of their lives due to the nature of their work.
Speaking to Kasapa News at the family house in Moree, the head of the family, Nana Sagoe Amanful II indicated it will be against their tradition for their son to be buried away from his spiritual home which is Moree.
The family welcome a possible state burial but insisted that the late Veeps remains must finally be laid to rest at Moree.
The impending tussle will be the second tussle in the region as the Otuam Family of the Late Atta Mills keep making claims of possible reburial of the late President at Otuam , the home town of his parents despite his burial at the Asomdwee Park at the Osu Castle area.
The late Amissah Arthur lost his life at a gym last week at the military installation in Accra.

The NPP Orchestrations has began; - Because of What They Did during the Death Of Vice President Aliu. Same has happened and they know there's Greater Probability That He will be buried near his brother and a friend President Atta Mills so they have started to orchestrate Aliu Type of defiance. We are watching.
This whole Asomdwee Park drama is a complete waste of funds. The NDC went ahead to construct it and made/dug holes ready to bury so go ahead. You will all have to be buried there. I'm sorry but that is the truth.
Don't only resist burial of a DEAD person BUT also resist lack of ENOUGH ambulances in Ghana. MEDIOCRITY!
The NDC party don't like fanties. From Mr Ackaah to Mills and now Amissah Arthur.
What the maternal family should know is that the late Vice-President served the nation as the No.2 most powerful man in the country. He should be buried in Accra at a place solely reserved for statesmen. Even though we concede he comes from a family the nation's request should supersede their interest.
