The South African Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Madam Lulu Xingwana has expressed satisfaction with Ghana’s rolled-out digital property address system. Ambassador Lulu believes Ghana’s digital address system is innovative and shows Ghana’s readiness to leapfrog its technological drive for rapid economic development.
The ambassador made this observation when she led a team of MBA students from the University of Witwatersrand Business School (WBS) to pay a courtesy call on the Vice President as part of their annual global tour, a requirement for all MBA students at the School.
At the meeting Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia took the students and academic leads from the Wits Business School (WBS) through the mandate and operations of the Economic Management Team (EMT) and the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU). The Vice President also touched on how policy decisions are made at the appellate level of government at the EMT and devolved for implementation.
Key among the highlights made by the Vice President were the steps Ghana is taking in the area of economic formalization through digitization.
He expounded on some projects such as the digital property address system, national identification, mobile money interoperability, land records digitization etc.
On her part, the Ambassador to South Africa congratulated the government of Ghana for the many bold initiatives it has undertaken in the last 22 months.
“I must say from where I stand that I am happy for your government and South Africa is prepared to take a cue from the many good things you are doing, especially the digital address system. We don’t have such a robust address system in South Africa as yours and we will be glad to tap from your experiences”.
Ambassador Lulu further mentioned that currently in South Africa there are so many places without addresses but Ghana’s digital address system guarantees every 5 by 5 square meter location a unique address.
This, she said is a step in the right direction for economic development.
The Academic Director of the Wits Business School, Prof. Paul Alagidede similarly expressed satisfaction with the current state of affairs of the Ghanaian economy and, together with some of the students wished that the current economic progress is sustained.

madam with crocodile bawumia should no bawumia is a liar in Ghana so pls stop visiting him.bawumia has no credibility in ghana.
They want to display their ignorance at the least opportunity. I will the whole world will buy into Ghana's Digital Address System. It is very annoying writing a long address when filling a form. This digital address is short and coded . I love it!! Better than what we have anywhere in the world. Dis they want No. 245 Otublohum street Accra? That sucks. Just quote your digital address system. It will be fully implemented when the formalization of the Economy is complete.
The address is coded and that is phenomenal. Better than what obtains in Europe and America.
Madam don't waste your country's money. provide water.
Tell us which of our NPP MPs knows the digital addresses to their homes and which form in Ghana when filling requires that you put in your Digital Address. This government is a joker. Waste of national resource. And with is, you are telling us SA want to learn from Ghana. Shame
To the so-called@eric Take the example of the KZN Region and other outlying regions in SA - most black communities live in shacks with literally no addressing system...part of the vestiges of apartheid. Simple logic indicates that the system already implemented in Ghana will offer a more cost-compelling solution in these SA regions in ensuring every shack has a unique address. Instead of being blinded by politics and emotions, let the neurons rule a bit so you can connect the dots and understand why the High Commissioner sees wisdom in its application for the far-flung regions in her home country.
Only those who are yet to travel to SA will beleive this. Why do we joke a lot like that. South Africa to learn from our address system? i am telling you that it is rather the opposite. the man Bawumia now knows his 2.5 million dollar GPS is a failure so contaced the amb for help. Please SA is advanced in this , what help do they need. Please the lies are getting overwhelming.
Indeed Ghana is working again under NANA/BAWUMIA leadership.
