The attention of The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has been drawn to media commentary on a Special Audit Report of the Auditor-General on Disallowance and/or Surcharge.

Though we have received no formal notice, the report appears to be circulating widely on social media.

We have noticed a publication on the website of the Ghana Audit Service purporting to surcharge the Chief Executive of the NHIA and some other officials past and present.

The NHIA wishes to inform the general public that, it is taking steps to seek clarity on the status of the said website report publication to enable it respond appropriately.

We wish to re-assure the public that Management of the NHIA is working continuously to improve the financial sustainability of the scheme as we journey to achieve Universal Health Coverage for all.
