Former President Jerry John Rawlings has called for a swift and conclusive investigation into the murder of Tiger Eye's investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
In a tweet, the former President also condemned the 'reckless' action of Kennedy Agyapong in 'unmasking' Ahmed and other investigative journalists involved in the documentary; Number 12: When Misconduct & Greed Become The Norm.
"Ahmed Suale’s killing cannot be allowed to end up like others - unresolved. We have to get to the bottom of these questionable circumstances and their implications for our wider safety.
I support the call by the President and other opinion leaders for a swift and conclusive investigation. I am equally moved by a strongly worded letter by US Congressman Henry Johnson seeking Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s support for the investigation of Suale’s death.
We are here today largely because one man recklessly unmasked an investigative reporter and issued threats of violence" Mr Rawlings wrote.
Background
Ahmed Hussein-Suale, was shot dead on Wednesday night at Madina in Accra by unidentified men on a motorbike and was buried on Friday in line with Islamic customs.
Ahmed hails from Wulensi in the Northern Region.

Hei JJ, many good people of Ghana have come out to condemn Ken for sometimes his unmatured and defamatory comments but you Rawlings of all Ghanaians has no moral justification to condemn him, let alone to say anything to suggest that Ken was implicative of the murderous act of the undercover journalist. Then, there is no Ghanaian who had been, indeed, less murderous than you, Rawlings. You and your cohorts brutally ordered and supervised the killing of my dear cousin General A. A. Afrifa, and among many others. You couldn't have just killed him (Afrifa) for the Coup d'etat he took part. Then, Kotoka was the head of that military coup and Kotoka was honored for his role, by naming him to date after the Ghana International Airport. This hypocrisy Of JJ always reminds me of the murder of Afrifa and that makes me very furious. And I bet, I wouldn't hesitate to revenge if I had the chance to do so. So I am not better than Ken neither is Rawling better than any murder. Rawlings is for this matter for me, indeed, ''a walking illegality'' Asem S€ B€!
@ofori Ghana has been worst under your so call youthfull president so let's think small.
Kennedy must suffer the same fate. Ahmed too has got people they should also kill him like he has done to their own
ghana the banana republic under akuffo addo. everything is turning upside down. this is what happens when you force yourself into a position of integrity, honesty , deviod of nepotism and above all backwardness. always relying on tribal agenda. no wonder ghana is a shithole country. the rest of the civilized world are electing young adults as presidents while ghana and some stupiiid fuuls are electing old age asss to lead the country to death and no development. no wonder there is confusion daily
So what was Mahama doing when Kwesi Nyantakyi was engaged in his dealings of which we got a Dzamefe report before he went to run his mouth in the #12 exposure and now they are making it about Kennedy Agyapong? What actually happened? And why this attempt to pin it on Kennedy Agyapong? Why beating about the ***barred word*** when the ***barred word*** is there?
Waa look at who is calling for investigation. Maybe we should investigate the killing of the judges and others between 1982 to 2000.
Being a Congress man doesn't make you superior over anybody. That letter he wrote doesn't hold nothing. Majority of people supporting Anas do not really know him well. I'm glad most Ghanaians have now seen that Anas works for his own selfish interest. Kennedy Agyapong stands for the truth. Mr Rawlings if I read you well, you said Kennedy shouldn't have showed their faces? Does Anas and Ahmed hide the faces of those they set up and entrap and use them as scapegoats? How can any well thinking person make others suffer and use the sufferings of others to enrich themselves by selling those documentaries to aljazeera and BBC? Kennedy Agyapong really deserves an award and not condemnation for always speaking the truth
See who is blaming Ken Agyepong of murder. You, JJ has more blood on your hands than anyone in Ghana, so be quiet! You will be jailed someday.
Ghana wait for God is coming to visit you andHe take of these plus others please be at peace and don't be troubled for God is with us.
papa J ***barred word***. u have no moral right to talk about murder in this country. don't take our minds back to the past. we know some murderers don't threaten their victims be4 executing them so ***barred word***. look at how u reacted when joy fm aired their documentary on who killed the judges. let the police do their work. if we shd point any finger then it shd be anas who made a video within 2 hrs of then murder trying to get the public's sympathy.
