Dean of Communication Studies at the Wisconsin University College, Professor Kwame Karikari says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must read the Right to Information Bill carefully before he appends his signature.
According to him, details of the Bill might not be favorable – hence, “If there is the need to change something, he must not hesitate to do so”.
He also cautioned Ghanaians not jubilate over the passage of the Right to Information Law by Parliament.
According to him, until the content of the new law is studied and accepted to be responsive to the challenges with information gathering in the country, Ghanaians must not celebrate.
He was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, day after the bill was passed.
