Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, Dominic Eduah, has given an assurance that the oil revenues will be distributed equitably across the country.

According to him, the decision would not only help to accelerate development in communities where oil is found, but would also benefit the entire country.

He stated this when the GNPC Foundation commissioned a 24-seater newly-constructed Sanitary Facility at Bompeh Secondary Technical School in the Secondi Takoradi Metropolis.

He pointed out that the foundation would continue to support communities in need with basic amenities including construction of boreholes, classroom blocks and other educational facilities, and also offer scholarships.

According to Mr. Eduah, the facility was among 30 other projects at various levels of completion across the country aimed at improving sanitation in the schools and communities. 

He urged the school to develop good maintenance culture to ensure the facility lasted to serve generations yet unborn. He noted that the foundation had its focus on impacting lives by building facilities for the needy communities. He pledged the foundation’s continuous support in contributing to nation building.

He challenged other organizations to take Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously to ensure that lives and communities were positively affected.

He disclosed that the foundation was building a 160-bed capacity hostel with ancillary facilities at the Sekondi School for the Deaf at Inchaban, as well as some classroom blocks at Sekondi College.

He also indicated that at Efiakuma Police Park in the metropolis, a traditional pitch was being transformed into an ultra-modern artificial turf.

Headmaster of the school, Mr. Joseph Borketey Larweh, thanked GNPC Foundation for making good on its promise to help the school.

“We are grateful to GNPC Foundation. We promise to take good care of this well equipped sanitary facility so it can serve generation unborn,” he added.
