The Right Reverend Professor Cephas Narh Omenyo, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, has called for Christians to emulate the life of Christ to overcome the social evils plaguing the human society.
This, he said, demanded that they became steadfast, strong and unwavering in their faith.
He was speaking at an induction service held for the newly elected Chairperson of the Asante Akyem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church, Dr. Anokye Nkansah, at Juaso.
The Moderator reminded him to be transparent and accountable in the running of affairs of the church, saying, that was the way to get the congregation behind him.
He should be guided by the truth and provide good leadership to grow the church.
He used the occasion to encourage parents to inculcate in their children strong Christian values to help them to become God-fearing.
Dr. Anokye, who until his election was the General Manager of Presbyterian Schools, promised not to disappoint.
He would be open and work with everybody to sustain the church on the path of growth – to bring hope and salvation to the people.
He called for the support, cooperation and prayers of all, to efficiently discharge his duties.

The Moderator's admonition is timely and oft-stated by Christian leaders. However, what we don't often hear is how to go about it. If it were that easy to just look at how Jesus lived His life and seek to emulate it, then the christian life would be so easy. There's the need to always teach and explain the agency of the Holy Spirit in having the life of Christ reflect in the life of the christian; else it would all be just a matter of self-effort which reduces Christianity to a mere religion, instead of a living relationship with a living Person-Jesus, the Christ. Thanks
