Pieces of intelligent information gathered by the Crystal Clear Lens suggest that the head of Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) in the Central Region, William Kusi Appiah, is in cover up for alleged nefarious activities of the Rector of the Cape Coast polytechnic, Professor Robert Nkum.

According to our scout, the office of the Director of the BNI, Mr. Yaw Donkor, has directed Mr. Appiah and his team to investigate series of malfeasance and abuse of office the Rector has been alleged to have engaged in. But five months down the line the report is yet to be submitted.

The sources hinted the Crystal Clear Lens that Mr. Appiah has been reluctant in submitting the report to his Superior in Accra for no apparent reason, raising suspicious about his commitment in unearthing the truth of the matter in the Polytechnic and also the credibility of the entire report.

Mr. Appiah’s delay in presenting his report has compelled the Polytechnic Council, chaired by Dr. Ato Cobbina, to set up a committee to investigate the matter.

The Crystal Clear Lens can confirm that months after Mr. Appiah and his team had started work the Council’s Committee that begun work far later, had already completed its investigation on the matter and submitted the report to the Council for further action.

The students and some staff on campus were beginning to wonder why the BNI with all its facilities available at its disposal could hardly finish its report on schedule. What is fuelling the speculation more among the student body and the staff is that Mr. Appiah’s superior in Accra has rejected the first report because it was shoddily prepared.

There is twist and turns, according to our investigation, exposing Appiah’s alleged lackadaisical attitude towards the entire investigation. The Administrator of the Polytechnic, Mr. Nimako Dankwah is allegedly to be part of the mafia click of the school of which Prof. Nkum has been a leading member. Mr Danquah, who is the brother-in-law of Appiah, is surrogate to Prof Nkum.

Now, the relationship between the Messier Appiah and Danquah is somehow influencing Mr. Appiah’s attitude in the manner he had handled the investigation so far. Other members of the click are the Finance Officer James Erskine Sackey and the Registration Nimako-Danquah who have been suspected of involving in clandestine act in the school and have been asked to proceed on leave to allow investigations into their activities.

Currently, the staff and the students have adopted wait and see attitude until the BNI finally comes out with its report.
