President John Evans Atta Mills has assured the people of Dagbon that government was working seriously on the murder of Yaa Naa Akubu Adani II and other cases of injustice and would soon arrive at justice for peace to prevail in the area.

He said government was also working behind the scenes to get justice for the people of Gushegu who were troubled prior to Election 2008 when some people were killed and properties destroyed.

President Mills, who was addressing the chiefs and people of Dagbon on Sunday at Yendi, thanked them for voting for him during the polls.
He said government was working out quietly on both cases and would come out at the appropriate time with the details.

President Mills in a response to the demand of Kampakuya-Naa Yakubu Abdulai Andani II, Regent of Dagbon, to provide each Chief of Dagbon with tractors, promised to assist them with tractors to enable government achieve its agenda of modernizing agriculture.

He asked the people to sustain peace prevailing in the area adding, "May the Good Lord bless us all to bring peace and justice and prevent us from the culture of impunity".
Kampakuya-Naa Andani expressed gratitude to the President for paying a courtesy call on him and commended government for its efforts that had contributed to sustaining peace in Dagbon.

The Regent appealed to the President to apply the rule of law to find lasting peace in the area.
Kampakuya-Naa Andani appealed to President Mills to help resettle people who were displaced in Yendi in 2002 and Gushegu in 2008.

He called on government to construct roads in the area which according to him were in a deplorable state, to link the Yendi Municipality to other Districts of the region.

The Regent requested for the establishment of a Teacher Training College in the area.At Naton-Zou, near Tamale, President Mills inaugurated a electricity project expected to cost GHc15, 000, under the Self-Help Electrification Project.
