At the end of meritorious service to the country in the colours, 15 senior military officers have retired and won the commendation of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) during a farewell activity in their honour.
The retiring senior officers are Brigadier Generals GK Adjei, JK Forkuo, T Allotey, JK Nkrumah, JCA Searyoh and AA Apogan-Yella. The rest are Air Commodores RGM Acquah and AA Awusima, Colonels MD Boampong, EA Mensah, I Salifu and S Agyekum Yamoah.
The rest are Captain (Ghana Navy) FK Eshun, Group Captain EK Boateng and Group Captain RA Nkoah. The CDS doffed his hat for what he described as their commitment and dedication during a well-attended ceremony.
He said every single one of the retiring officers had accounted very honourably for their period in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
He said �although you may be retiring from active service, it is our hope and belief that you will continue to make available your invaluable knowledge and experience to the GAF should you be called upon to do so.�
Brigadier Nkrumah, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, expressed gratitude to the CDS and service chiefs for the honour done them, assuring that they will continue to share their experiences with the GAF anytime they were called upon.
