The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Imran Musah, 67, died in the early hours of Saturday in Kumasi after a long battle with diabetes.
Ustaz Ahmed, Secretary of the Council of Ulamau, told the Ghana
News Agency (GNA), that he would be buried later in the day in
accordance with Islamic tradition.
He said the final funeral would be held at a later date.
Admired for his sublime qualities of humility, fair-mindedness
and sincerity, he would be deeply missed by many in the Muslim
community.
Ustaz Ahmed said it was their prayer that Allah would grant him a
place in Heaven.
Sheikh Musah was installed the Chief Imam on February 15, 2002.
He is survived by two wives and 14 children.
