The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has taken a swipe at the deputy Minister of Health, Rojo Mettle Nunoo, who registered his dismay at the decision of the association to strike.
The President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Emmanuel Adom Winful, in an interview with Citi News accused the Deputy Health Minister of refusing to address their concerns which were lettered to the ministry some 18 months ago.
He did not find out whether our concerns have been addressed and when we engaged last week, nothing happened at the meeting, which is the fact, Dr. Winful declared. So he shouldnt tell anybody that he is surprised; what did he do when things were not going well?
Government earlier expressed surprise at the decision of doctors and junior nurses to lay down their tools as there were engagements between them and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to address their concerns.
Doctors are still, however, going ahead with their strike despite calls from various quarters for them to rescind their decision.
The GMA has been on a nationwide strike since last Friday after their demands to migrate them to the Single Spine Salary Structure hit a snag.
Various critics have condemned the doctorsďż˝ action calling it unnecessary whilst the Ghana Registered Nurses Association has also condemned the action.
