A 30 year old driver, who ignored a signal by the police to stop has been sentenced to a fine of GH�400.00 by the Nkawie Circuit Court. Francis Bonsu would in default serve six months imprisonment.
He pleaded guilty to the offence. Police Sergeant Jonas Adjei told the Court presided over by Justice Noble Nkrumah that the incident occured on October 14 at about 0700 hours.
Bonsu was driving a Hyundai bus towards Bibiani and when signaled by personnel of the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) on routine road check at Toase to stop but he drove away.
The prosecution said a message was sent to the Police at Nyinahin who intercepted the vehicle and arrested him. He said when he asked to produce his driver license, Bonsu could not.
