The constituency executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asante-Akim North have hailed the removal of the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr Thomas Osei Bonsu, from office by the President.
A press release signed by the secretary, Alhaji Braimah Boyong, said the move could not have come at a better time and was in the best interest of the party.
It accused Mr Bonsu of poor performance and insisted that his two-and-a-half year tenure was characterized by sheer administrative incompetence and inefficiencies. This it said negatively affected the popularity of the government and fueled apathy among the partys loyalists.
The release denied rumors that the party executives were not in support of the drive to evict Fulani herdsmen at Agogo because some of them owned cattle there.
It gave their strong backing to efforts by the Regional Security Council and the Agogo Traditional Council to end the atrocities and lawlessness of the alien herdsmen to allow the people to go about their farming activities without fear.
