Tens of stalls were destroyed when fire gutted the Makola No 2 market close to Agbogbloshie in Accra.
The raging fire had destroyed virtually the whole market.
The fire, reported to have started around 20:00 GMT on Tuesday, spread wildly through the market destroying goods worth millions of Ghana cedis. Over twelve fire tenders were on the scene of the incident to bring the situation under control.
Several traders and shop owners were gathered around the market area looking on helplessly as the blaze raged on. Dozens of Police personnel are also at the scene to maintain security in the area.
