The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) said there is no panic movement of foreigners through the Aflao border in fear of Thursdays election petition verdict.

Mr. Julius Gborglah, Acting Commander of the Aflao Sector of the GIS told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview on Tuesday that the outflow of human traffic has not changed or increased within the past days.

He said the GIS has since last fortnight taken statistics of persons departing the country for perceived fears of mayhem but said the situation was normal.

“Movement is normal, traffic is normal and business is normal as far as the frontier here is concerned”, Mr. Gborglah said.

The Acting Commander said there was no cause for alarm and urged the public to remain calm explaining that patrols have been stepped up with opinion leaders also sensitized, adding that, no signs of attempted use of unapproved routes was recorded.

Meanwhile, the GNA has observed that traffic at the frontier as well as business at the Ghana Revenue Authority baggage hall and activities at the various transport terminals is normal.
