Government says it is addressing the challenges identified with the street naming exercise to ensure all Municipal Metropolitan and District Assemblies (MMDAs) meet the 18-month timeline.
Deputy Local Government Minister, Baba Jamal made this known in Ho in the Volta Region during a street naming orientation for some District Assemblies in the region.
President John Mahama had directed all MMDAs to ensure that the national street naming and property addressing exercise was completed within 18 months.
Baba Jamal indicated that the project was faced with challenges that include logistics, personnel and funds.
He however stated that the Ministry �in collaboration with the National Service Secretariat" will raise personnel "trained in geometrics and physical planning" to ensure that the project goes on well.
In relation to the provision of logistics, Baba Jamal stated that the basic equipments needed to undertake the project will be made available �and there will also be funds provided for the prosecution of the project.�
