A renowned retired Supreme Court Judges,Justice V.C.R.A.C Crabbe, has advised the nations judges to live beyond reproach in dealing with maritime cases that are brought before them to for adjudication.
He said the Judiciary should concern itself of terrorism which poses security threats to oil shipment in the sub-region.
�The challenges confronting the shipping industry are manifold and one of such challenges which poses maritime security threat and is currently on the ascendancy is piracy and armed robbery against ships operating on the coast of West Africa or Gulf of Guinea,� he noted.
He recalled that in the last two years, there had been quite a number of reported piracy cases which threatened to undermined the safety and security of the maritime industry across the sub-region.
Justice Crabbe was addressing the ninth edition of the Maritime Law Seminar for Judges of the Superior Courts of Ghana.
He asked the Judges to draw lessons from the seminar to enable them apply the appropriate international regulations and laws when adjudicating maritime disputes.
