Mr Fuseini Bawa, who was banished from Walewale together with his family on the eve of Christmas, has appealed to the Ghana Police Service to offer protection to his family to ensure their safety.

He said since his reinstatement after the intervention of Nayire Naa Bohugu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional Area, his three stores were all still locked up.

Mr Bawa said this denied him the economic livelihood since that was what he relied on to feed his family saying “I do not understand why I will be denied access to my own properties”.

Mr Bawa, his two wives and his children were banished from Walewale on the the Night of December 24 for an alleged recalcitrant behavior towards the Paramount Chief of Wungu.

Wungu Naba, Alhaji Saaka Sulemana, said Mr Bawa did not deserve to live in the community for his alleged stubbornness and a threat to sue him (Chief).

Information gathered by the Ghana News Agency showed that many people gave a Fulani herdsman cattle to take care of but he sold the animals to people who also gave cattle to him to take care of, this creating owners.

The Fulani herdsman, who sensed danger, bolted leaving the cattle behind and therefore created conflict among the buyers.

The chief intervened and distributed the cattle but Mr Bawa, who also had cattle with the Fulani herdsman, did not receive any so he complained and threatened to take legal action.
