The Ghana Journalists Association has opened a book of condolence at the Press Centre, for the late BBC ace broadcaster Komla Dumor.

The book was opened on January 21 for all Ghanians who want to pay their tribute to the late broadcaster’s family.

Ghana’s dedicated broadcast journalist and host of “Focus on Africa” on BBC TV, was confirmed dead early Saturday morning at his residence in London.

According to a media report, his death was as a result of a heart attack (cardiac arrest).

Mr. Dumor, one of Ghana’s most influential journalists in the country, joined the BBC in 2007, after a decade of broadcast journalism in his native Ghana, Joy FM to be precise, and won the Ghana Journalist of the Year Award in 2003.

The Ghana News Agency on Thursday observed that various bodies and organizations in the Greater-Accra Region, signed the book of condolence in memory of the late Komla Dumor.

They included Viasat 1 Television, Joy FM, Ghana News Agency, Valley View University, Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation, Uniq FM, Fidelity Bank and the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

The 41-year-old journalist left behind a wife, Kwansema Dumor and three children.
