Residents of Buade within the Ledzokuku-Krowor municipality of the Greater Accra region were thrown into a state of shock when they woke up on Sunday to find a premature baby dumped into the bush.

The bouncing baby boy who was found in the bush by a Good Samaritan was almost eaten up by ants and rats, but for the timely intervention of a carpenter.

Eric Osei, a-34-year-old carpenter who witnessed the barbaric act and narrated the ordeal to the DAILY HERITAGE said, the child was found in the bush after he made his way through to attend to natures call.

According to him, on Sunday July 27, at about 7:00am, he had a stomach disorder and went straight into the bush when situation at the toilet facility did not favour him.

He said upon entering the bush at Buade, he heard a noise as though a dog had been delivered. Mr. Osei further stated that the noise which was coming occasionally prompted him to get close to the scene.

He told the paper that upon getting to the scene, he saw a sack in the bush and the noise was emanating from it. He opened it and saw mice running out of it.

According to the eye witness, after opening it, he saw a baby boy who had some parts of his fingers and the ears bitten by the mice.

He quickly called others to the scene and later sent the baby to the LEKMA Polyclinic and after bathing him, he was sent to the LEKMA hospital where it has been admitted.

Mr. Eric told the paper that after examining him it was detected that he was premature at birth and was only seventh months old.

He appealed for public prayer and support for the child and said they will return today to find out the state of the innocent boy.
