Hot oil leakage from a pump that resulted in fire might have caused a helicopter belonging to an oil company to crash off the coast of Cape Three Points six months ago.
The helicopter belonging to Luk Oil plunged into the Atlantic Ocean killing all on board including two crew members.
A five-member committee that investigated the crash has presented its report to Mrs Dzifa Attivor, the Minister of Transport and its Chairman, Capt Victor Opoku, said the fire caused a lot of damage which prevented the two pilots from salvaging the situation.
Capt Opoku, who is also a retired pilot, said the report was written after interviews with survivors, fishermen, aircraft control workers, Meteorological Service staff among others.
Mrs Attivor praised the committee for a good work done and said the report would be studied.
