The bodies of the two children who got drowned in the Butre river around ewusiejoe in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region has been retrieved after 20 hours of search.
The deceased, Nyamekye, 10 and Yaw, 12, were purported to have been in the company of a third friend whom they had visited at Apowa when the incident occurred.
Sources say, though they were told by their friend not to swim, as aliens of that community, but they ignored the advice.
Madam Helena Yankey, a caregiver to one of the deceased, who could not control her tears when the bodies were found, threw herself on the ground and wailed bitterly, attracting nearby residents to the scene.
