As a matter of urgency, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is placing emphasis on the full protection of all key national assets and installation as well as warehouses nationwide.
�����A statement issued by the Public Relations Department in Accra, said the decision is in view of the severe nature of the harmattan weather and the recent spate of fire outbreaks.
�����As an immediate measure the Chief Fire Officer has�directed all regional commanders to liaise with�stakeholders and conduct fire safety audits�This is to ensure that there is adequate fire protection cover for all government installations in the country,� it said.
�����The statement said fire safety education campaign is ongoing and the service calls for massive public support since fire safety is a shared responsibility.
�����Management is of the view that with support from the �public and other organisations, the GNFS would always meet the expectation of the public by effectively managing fire outbreaks in all national installations.
�����Management wishes to assure Ghanaians that appropriate measures have been put in place to control the recurrence of these fire incidents.����
