The Northern Regional police command continues to record rape cases as the highest crime.
According to the regional Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, 16 cases have so far been recorded for 15 similar to the same number recorded in 2014.
DCOP Ken Yeboah made this revelation when the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Julius Debrah visited the regional police command as part of his five day’s working visit.
He complained about the victims’ parents’ unwillingness to report rape cases to the police.
DCOP Ken Yeboah revealed that his administration recorded 46 defilement cases last and has so far recorded 38 for 2015.
“Last year we recorded 46 but this year 38 but we are trying as much as possible to reduce crime rate to the barest minimum.”
