A famous American Baritone, ANTONIO WATTS is gearing up for an exciting performance at the Night of Classical Music fundraiser being organized by the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation.

He is billed to perform at the charity fund raising concert at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons on Friday the 13th of February, 2014.

Antonio possesses a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Voice from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. He has received several plaudits from legends of Opera and Classical music for his unique music talent.

In an interview, the singer said he is extremely passionate to be back in Accra to support Mrs. Rebecca Akufo – Addo and her team at the Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation who are doing a tremendous job to fight malaria in Ghana.

“I’m so excited and looking forward to the Friday event. I’m here because I believe in Ghana and Africa so guests should expect an awesome entertaining night, which they have never experienced before,” Antonio added.

He was very reflective about how malaria claims so many lives in Ghana and Africa. Mr. Watts lamented on how deprived people in society and children are at the mercy of malaria and hopes for more pragmatic measures to deal with the disease.

Antonio Watts has built a fantastic relationship with the entire planning committee of Infanta and honoured previous concerts with sterling acts. He expressed a special heart felt gratitude to Mrs. Akufo-Addo for being a fantastic host over the years.

Known for his remarkable baritone prowess, Antonio elates his audience with exceptional performances that virtually gets them on their feet wishing for a never ending treat. Since his arrival in the country, he has already made his presence felt with a few spectacular performances during his visits to Winneba and Kumasi.

Antonio Watts has appeared as a soloist in several productions of Handel’s Messiah, Vaughn –Williams’ Serenade to Music, Faure’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass # 2 in G, and DuBois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, among other long list of credits.

He has also been a soloist in the Chicago Chapter NATS Finalists’ Concert and was a featured Young Artist of the South Shore Cultural Center for two seasons.

Antonio started his 2012-2013 season co – founding an emerging tour company, The Chicago Opera Quartet, which debuted in the Fine Arts Building’s Pianoforte Studio. Most recently, Antonio has just completed his appointment in the Featured Artist Programme with the Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh.

Tickets for the event are still available for GHȻ250 per head. Special tickets for students can also be obtained at GHȻ100. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on the night.
