The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has refuted claims by the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Youth Leader, Divine Nkrumah that he was singled out for search at the airport on Saturday night.

A source at the Narcotics Control body told Adomonline.com in an interview that the checks which its personnel stationed at the Airport performed on Mr. Divine Nkrumah was just part of their 'normal checks' at the airport on passengers.

The source continued that the personnel never ‘snatched’ the passport of the PPP Youth leader but instead approached him to perform its normal checks.

Divine Nkrumah and his deputy, Richard Nii Armah were returning from a youth conference in South Africa when the incident occurred.

The known critic of the Mahama administration said he was subjected to two body scans and his urine samples taken in an isolated room in the Airport.

His deputy, Nii Armah also had his passport seized when he complained about the treatment meted out to his boss.

Others have opined that this could be a part of witch hunting by the government against its critics.

But these processes, the NACOB source said are all part of its routine checks towards helping check possible drug invasion in the country.
