Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has hit hard at some Radio and Television presenters who abuse airwaves during their birthdays.
According to him, some presenters spend more than an hour to discuss their birthday on air which he believed it’s unacceptable, a practice which he says must be stopped.
“To be honest with you those of us who have the privilege to sit on air abuse the privilege and it must stop now,” Pratt said while reacting to a question on Adom FM on when he would celebrate his birthday.
He noted that his birthday is not meant for the public to discuss but rather his private matter and business.
“Some presenters believe that they are more important than the masses which shouldn’t be so…,” Kwesi Pratt Jnr. emphasized.
According to him, he has been forced to come out and comment on this since “we overdo it as if such people are the ‘Queen of England’ in this country.”
“Normally, I don’t talk about it but rather monitor, I’m just worried about the menace when I sit at home and listen to such presenters in the country….”
He further counseled Radio and TV presenters to come to the realization that the microphones in their studios are to serve the public interest and public good and not for presenters to hijack and turn themselves into ‘petty gods’ who are so special than other members of society.
