The Minority leader has claimed that about 10 unidentified men attempted to attack him on Tuesday, but his security detail was swift to avert the nefarious plan.
Mr Osei Kyei- Mensah Bonsu told Kasapa FM that, around midnight on Tuesday, two men approached the police official guarding his house and informed him of a purported incident a few metres away from the residence of the lawmaker.
According to the MP, the men insisted that the police official followed them to the scene of the alleged incident, so the law enforcement officer, who was suspicious of them, took his gun with him.
The Minority Leader stated that, moments later, the police official saw some men approaching on motorbikes that fateful midnight and immediately had to call for support. “When they heard that the policeman was calling for reinforcement the two men took to their heels and joined those on the motorbikes and escaped,” he recalled
He said the unknown men could have been on a mission to attack him or raid his house. “God has an eye on me,” Mr Mensah-Bonsu said, adding that he was inside the house when the incident occurred.
He expressed gratitude to the police for beefing up security at his residence as soon as he made a formal complaint.
