The gunman who was arrested at the Ringway Assemblies of God church for carrying a loaded gun, Charles Antwi has disclosed that Sunday was his fourth visit to President Mahama’s church in an attempt to kill him.
He revealed that the first time he was there, President Mahama was in church but he [Antwi] did not have his gun on him.
He has been charged with unlawful possession of fire arms and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
In court, he revealed that a military personnel directed him to the President’s church at Ringway.
Heads must roll
A security at KAIPTC had earlier called for someone to be held responsible for what he described as a clear security breach.
He said the conduct of the security operatives were substandard, insisting they need to step-up their game to offer better protection for the first family.
“When we know that the president has a specific place where he worships, people must do enough checks and must sleep over so that when you enter church, it will make conversation very friendly. This breach of security is intolerable and unacceptable and somebody must held responsible.”
