The Ministry of Interior has declared Thursday, September 24 a public holiday to mark this years Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival observed by Muslims across the globe to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allahs command to sacrifice his son, Ishmael.
A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said the day is a statutory holiday and thus asked Ghanaians to observe it as such.
