A 36-year-old Nigerian man, identified as Alexis Zogbelemow, has been sentenced to death after being found guilty of drug trafficking in 2012 in the Asian country of Malaysia.
Judge Datuk Akhtar Tahir of the Shah Alam High Court handed the death penalty to the accused for trafficking 824.1 grammes of Methamphetamine after finding him guilty of the offence.
Zogbelemow, a rental car operator, was apprehended in the main arrival hall of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang, on February 28, 2012, Daily Mail reports.
According to the Judge, he will be the second Nigerian to have been sentenced to death in recent time for drug offences in Malaysia.
