The Ayensuano District Assembly, has passed a vote of no confidence in Mr Gershon Kofi Agyemang, the District Director of Education, and subsequently requested his immediate transfer from that District over alleged disrespect for the District Assembly.
In a resolution signed by Mr Edward Antwi Amedi, Presiding Member of Ayensuano District Assembly, Mr Agyemang is said to have turned down several invitations by the Assembly summoning him to appear before it to answer some pertinent questions.
Mr Amedi said, the Assembly is young and saddled with many challenges that need urgent attention and that the continuous stay of Mr Agyemang in the District could negatively affect quality education delivery.
When contacted, Mr Agyemang confirmed to the Ghana News Agency that he has received the Assembly’s resolution but declined comments and said he was seeking clarification from the Director General of Education.
