Despite Group Celebrates Republic Day With Games (VIDEO)

The Despite Group of Companies is organizing a two-day fun-packed event dubbed ‘Despite Group Blood Donation and Fun Games’ on July 1 to 2.

The blood donation exercise which is being organized to save lives of those in need of blood at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital, will take place at the forecourt of Peace FM, Okay FM, UTV, and Neat FM located at the Abeka Junction in Accra.

“The blood donation is our small corporate social responsibility to respond to the needs of the less-privileged in the society specially in the area of health as well as helping to replenish the National Blood Bank,” one of the organizers told beat waves.

The event will be climaxed with games on Saturday, July 2 at Accra Sports Stadium.

The fun games, according to the organizers, will also offer business professionals an opportunity to burn some calories in a fun environment and still remain productive.

Some of the activities lined-up for the day include chess, ‘ludo’, musical chairs, ‘treasure hunt, 50-metre dash, table tennis, lime and spoon race, tug-of-peace, basketball, badminton, lime and spoon, among others.

Participating institutions at the fun games are Best Point Savings & Loans, Special Investments Ltd, Neat Foods, Peace FM, Okay FM, UTV, and Neat FM.

The curtain-raiser will feature two sets of the Black Giants team playing against each other in a football game and the highlight of that day's event is the crucial match between Despite 11 and All Stars (a team comprising actors, actresses, comedians, musicians, etc).

Superintendent Kofi Sarpong, Bisa Kdei, Becca, Liwin, Akrobeto, Kwaw Kesse, Flowking Stone, Kwaisey Pee, Nii Funny and a host of others, supported by the ASA Band will perform at the event to entertain listeners and music fans who will grace the occasion.
