Communications adviser and the host of Metro TV's ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show, Paul Adom Otchere became the subject of ridicule and humiliation after being dressed down by Starr FM’s Nii Arday Clegg on live radio.
Mr. Adom Otchere allegedly claimed in an interview with Bola Ray on Star Chat Tuesday that the Starr FM Morning host, Arday Clegg, once took an Interim Assessment (IA) for him during their first degree days at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Nii Arday Clegg did not take kindly to words of the ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show host and confronted him in a phone call. Paul admitted the statement was false and apologised to the StarrFM Morning show host.
The story, however, did not end there as Nii Arday Clegg called Mr. Adom Otchere and chastised him on live radio the following day calling the latter ‘evil’ and a 'liar'. Paul Adom Otchere admitted his wrongdoing and apologised to the StarrFM Morning Show host during a live phone-in session on Wednesday to clear the air.
The development has shocked many people including former journalist of the year, Manasseh Azure Awuni.

My jaw dropped when I heard a voice recording of Nii Arday Clegg, host of the Starr FM morning show. I cringed when, live on radio, he called Paul Adom Otchere "evil" and a "liar." He alleged that Paul Adom Otchere had lied about him (Arday Clegg) on Bola Ray's show, Starr Chat. He said he got angry and confronted Paul on phone and Paul admitted he had lied. All this sounded too strange to believe until he raised Paul Adom Otchere on phone.
Would Paul defend his statement or admit he lied? He admitted he lied and apologised to Nii Arday Clegg.
It may be Paul Adom Otchere's bad day but this presents a huge lessons for us journalists and those of us who have the opportunity to be on radio and television. Not all the people we lie about may have the platform like Nii Arday Clegg to defend themselves, but we will not escape the dreaded punishment of the Righteous Judge if we knowingly lie about others. Let's learn from this.
