The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), has said it has rectified the problem that resulted in the shortage water supply to some areas of Accra.
Residents in areas in and around Airport, Dzworwulu and the 37 Military Hospital, have not had their taps flowing for the past three days.
The water company indicated that, this was as a result of a leakage on one its major pipelines which it has since fixed.
In a Citi News interview, the Head of Corporate Communications at GWCL, Stanley Martey, explained that, “we have had to shut down and repair that leakage. So since Monday, we have been working on the line and we have been able to complete it as at Friday. We have started pumping to those areas.”
Mr. Martey thus assured the public that, by close of day Saturday, “most of the areas that haven’t had water in the last four days will start getting access to water.”
