Heads and some members of the Nii Arde Nkpa family of Plerno - James Town allodial owners of Kokrobite, Langma and Tuba lands in Accra have paid a courtesy call on the new Inspector General of Police, COP David Asante-Apeatu.

The family which has a long standing relationship with the new IGP  decided to pay him a visit to congratulate him on his new appointment and to also wish him well in his endeavor.

Speaking during the courtesy call on COP David Asante-Apeatu, the Head of Nii Arde Nkpa Family and Administrator for Kokrobite, Langma and Tuba lands Mr. Daniel Nii Arde Tagoe indicated that the family is enthused about the appointment of COP David Asante-Apeatu as the new IGP since he has the experience and all it takes to ensure effective policing in the country.

According to Daniel Nii Tagoe the new acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu, made significant changes at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service, a unit he once headed by bringing down the rampant attacks by land guards on rightful property owners.

He said the Arde Nkpa family is ready to support the new IGP in the discharge of his duties in order to maintain a peaceful country void of land guard activities, robbery, killings and all other social vices.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed COP David Asante-Apeatu as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) after the former IGP, John Kudalor officially retired from the service.

COP David Asante-Apeatu on his part thanked the family for the visit and promised that his administration will work hard to ensure that the nation is rid of criminals so that people can go about their daily activities in peace.

He called on the family as well as the public not to relent on giving reliable information to the police about suspicious activities and criminals, stressing that the Police is there to protect people and their properties and that efforts by the public to ensure that the work of the police goes well, are welcome.

The family also prayed for God protection and guidance for him.

COP David Asante-Apeatu on his part said he will direct most cases to court for determination.
