Traditional authorities of Kintampo area are angry with government delegation led by the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who were there to commiserate with the families of the Kintampo Waterfalls victims.
The delegation was in the area to show solidarity with students of Wenchi Methodist Secondary School currently responding to treatment after a storm was said to have caused a tree to fall on revellers, killing at least 20 students and injuring several others.
The delegation including the Brong Ahafo Region Minister, Hon Asoma-Cheremeh announced government will bear the cost of treatment of the injured persons and the funeral expenses of the dead.
But the traditional authorities of Kintampo Traditional Council are dissatisfied with government.
According to the Kontihene of the area, Nana Effah, they had messages from the constituency executives of NPP that the Vice President will pay them a courtesy call.
“So we were seated in our palace waiting for the Dr. Bawumia and his entourage to come so it can afford us opportunity to brief him the whole issue ….We waited for hours only to hear on radio this morning that he has gone back to Accra.”
“How come you be in a traditional home like this and refused to seek permission from us a custodians of the land?.. This is uncalled for and we will want government to come with better explanation,” the aggrieved Kontihene fumed during radio interviews.????

So when the Melcom disaster happened Prof.Atta Mills should have visited the Ga-Mantse first before going to the scene right? Ahba!
nama kontihene, have you bothered to go sympathize with the bereaved families? just asking oooo. if you didn't it has been done for you. so?
Aaaabbaa......what is this at all. Would their visit to these chiefs bring back the dead to life?
Unnecessary protocol and attention seeking chiefs. Did the chief ever visit the waterfalls to see the state of it? Since they are the overseers of the land and they are claiming to be the highest creatures on the kintampo land! They should backoff!!
na wei nso so y3 plan b3n ?
The Chiefs should understand the emergency of the whole issues. Pleas understand that this can be deliberate by a whole Vice President..Perhaps arrangement and information didnt get to his team as aspect and that caused the oversight. Let's try not to underrate the competencies of our Leaders. Thank you.
the world is changing and the young once have no respect. arrogant is the order of the day. continue to insult the chiefs. The end of arrogant people will be like their beginning.
look at these F-0--0--L$. I'm I the only who believes these chiefs have outlived their usefulness and relevance in Ghana? Why are some Ghanaian chiefs in competition to be the most u$ele$$ B--A_S-TARD$ in the world? Such a tragedy has taken place and all you think of is your disappointment that the veep hasn't come over to greet you? I am boiling with rage. All the royalties paid to these chiefs from the proceeds of the waterfalls could have made the place safe. F-00000L$
Oh please! leave Dr. Bawumia alone. This is not courtesy call matter. He was there for unofficial visit. He went there purposely to sympathize with the situation and the bereaved folks.
where were the kintampo chiefs when the students were dying? bawumia didn't go there to see the chiefs he went to see the bereaved. he will see you during campaign time so shutttttup and keep quiettt
