Traditional authorities of Kintampo area are angry with government delegation led by the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who were there to commiserate with the families of the Kintampo Waterfalls victims.
The delegation was in the area to show solidarity with students of Wenchi Methodist Secondary School currently responding to treatment after a storm was said to have caused a tree to fall on revellers, killing at least 20 students and injuring several others.
The delegation including the Brong Ahafo Region Minister, Hon Asoma-Cheremeh announced government will bear the cost of treatment of the injured persons and the funeral expenses of the dead.
But the traditional authorities of Kintampo Traditional Council are dissatisfied with government.
According to the Kontihene of the area, Nana Effah, they had messages from the constituency executives of NPP that the Vice President will pay them a courtesy call.
“So we were seated in our palace waiting for the Dr. Bawumia and his entourage to come so it can afford us opportunity to brief him the whole issue ….We waited for hours only to hear on radio this morning that he has gone back to Accra.”
“How come you be in a traditional home like this and refused to seek permission from us a custodians of the land?.. This is uncalled for and we will want government to come with better explanation,” the aggrieved Kontihene fumed during radio interviews.????

This are the reason young people are dying, no respect for the elderly. He will have gone there if it was campaign time. let respect our elders. Bawumia was wrong and NPP executive in that part of the country must render unqualified apology to those chiefs.
Nana get over it, go and pour your liebation to prevent any future disaster.
Why do they want money ??? Aaaah Ghana people are dying and u are der talking abt visit... Booboclate
F0UK U NANA F@CK U KRONTIHENE, WHAT WHERE YOU SAYING WHEN THE ACCEDENT HAPPEN? n,d,c chifes.
I simply don't understand the kontihene or whatever. Mtchewwwwww
Alimak or whatever u call urself, what has the issue got to do with Bawumia's wife n her dressing? Pls, behave like a matured ***barred word*** n stop fooling urself around. ***barred word***
THE SO CALLED KONTIHENE IS NOT KONTIHENE FOR THE ENTIRE CHIEFS. KINTAMPO DOES NOT BELONG TO ONLY ONE ETHNIC GROUP.WE HAVE THE MOS AND THE BRONGS SO NO ETHNIC GROUP CAN CLAIM THE OWNERSHIP OF THE TOWN. THOSE INSULTING SHOULD LEARN THE HISTORY OF KINTAMPO BEFORE COMING OUT.
I have always marveled why Ghanaians still subject themselves to this outmoded custom called chieftaincy. My understanding is, someone's ancestor fights an ancient war, secures a land for his bravery, then we have his very ***barred word*** descendant becoming the leader of this community? Most of these today chief are crude, ***barred word*** and clowns as that. Look at this ***barred word***? Why do people still stomach these ***barred word***, beats my mind.
Was it an oversight or Bawumia didn't want to be queried on the role of the invincible forces in this unfortunate loss?
To hell is him. Why do you people always want to control politicians. If Vice Prez, Bawumia had gone there will they have brought the dead back?. Koti hene, please give us a break.
