Wild Jubilation Over President's DCE Nominee in Assin South

There was spontaneous jubilation over the President's nomination of Mr. Derrick Owusu Ambrose as the District Chief Executive for the Assin South District.
 

Many people took to the street singing praises amidst drumming and dancing, praising President Akufo-Addo for the honour done them.

 

M  Kwaku Owusu, Assin South Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in an interview, told the GNA that there was massive support not only by the NPP but also the traditional authority as well as other political parties.

 

He described Mr Ambrose as a ‘home boy’ who was familiar with the aspirations and problems of the communities within the districts.

 

According to him, Mr Ambrose rallied support from all people regardless of their political affiliation, ethnic or social status and stressed that it was time to work in unity to promote the wellbeing of all people.

 

Mr Owusu expressed confidence in the ability of the President’s nominee to transform the area,  given the needed support.

 

Mr Derrick Ambrose in an interview with the GNA thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and promised to employ an open- door policy to address the challenges of the district to develop the area.

 

Mr Ambrose a Pharmacist by profession, is also a farmer, businessman and an entrepreneur.

 

 Mr Sylvester Amakyi Nyarkoh, Presiding Member (PM) of the Assin Central Municipal Assembly appealed to the assembly members to endorse him to bring development to the area.

 

In the Cape Coast Municipal, the nomination of Mr Ernest Arthur as the Municipal Chief Executive was graced with mixed reactions.

 

While some people believed he was not qualified and preferred more qualified candidates for the position, others were pleased with the President’s nomination and were optimistic that he would live up to expectation.

 

Some people the in Cape Coast were in support of the view that MMDCEs should be voted for as it would bring an end to agitations surrounding their nominations.
