The mother of Dr Stephen Opuni, a former CEO of Ghana COCOBOD, was this weekend buried at Babianiha in the Brong Ahafo Region. The tomb of the deceased has generated a lot of comments on social media and other media platforms.
The tomb which is in the form of a building was financed by the children of the deceased to honour their mother.
The matter has dominated social media discussions throughout the weekend with people expressing different opinions. The woman was a successful cocoa farmer in the Brong Ahafo Region who owned many businesses in the region and beyond.
All her children are successful professionals including Dr Opuni, a medical officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, two engineers based in the United States, etc.
According to the children, they would have constructed something more elegant than what has become a public issue had it not been the political consequences their brother may suffer considering our polarised political environment and the associated mischiefs.

I don't see anything wrong if they had the means to honor their late mom. Lots of people abroad do that..we talk too much about other peoples business. If wishes were horses....
THIS IA WHAT HE USED OUR COCOA MONEY FOR."TAFLATSE" MAN
Hmmm God have mercy on us oooo, what i want to know is after building this tomb did the mother woke up from her death? You and ur family can build 4 story buildings and put her in she will still not wake up, i hope u thought it wise enough to put in an aircondition for her if not then do so and get a prepaid metre for that tomb or build a mortuary a bury her in it. mtcheeewww what annoys most is a cousin of theirs need 100gh as a business capital but will never get from them even Atta mills or despites parents wasnt buried like this
Whoever gave him the permit to build this ,is the one we should be questioming. When other countries are utilising space for the benefit of the community ,look at at what we are using ours for.
so this house thumb is for the mother to see or what because the mother is died and cannot see . They could have built a school or hospital and name it after their mother that would have been more appropriate and honurable . they dont care about the suffering masses .some cocoa farmers children are still strugling to go to school God have mercy
Eiii...Ghanaians and copy copy, this is common in Mexico by the drug lords...
As long as it was done with his money we have no problem. But now we hear that there are so much unexplain contracts he needs to give further information. once he is cleared then find if not there is a link between his wealth and all his asset.
in respect to the dead, i think we must pause here till there is any fishy deal with opuni and cocobod, brothers and sisters in the states can pay for this, though too huge and wondering the many months the mom was at the morgue before the tomb etc was built but still, lets wait and see if nothing is wrong. its better we delay to get the bare facts or truth than to disrespect the dead. may her soul rest in peace and may the family and kids take heart, may the Lord be their strength
WHY CAN'T PEOPLE MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH GHANAIANS?. THOSE CRITICIZING WOULD DO EVEN MORE THAN THIS TO THEIR DEPARTED PARENTS IF THEY CAN AFFORD. THESE CRITICISMS ARE MISPLACED AND PEOPLE SHD DIRECT THEIR EFFORTS TO BETTER THINGS.
