Two nomadic herdsmen are in the grips of the Kwahu Mpraeso Police for allegedly engaging in a highway robbery.
The two suspect Ibrahim Sambo and Suleiman Sambo reportedly blocked the Kwahu Tafo-Kwahu Pitiku motor road and were robbing drivers and passengers plying that section of the road during the weekend.
According to Eastern Regional Police PRO DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Police upon receiving the information responded and met three herdsmen armed with single barrel short guns in the act.
He said, the herdsmen, however, ran into the bush on seeing the Police.
The patrol team pursued them and arrested suspect Ibrahim Sambo, aged 31 and also retrieved one single barrel shotgun from him.
The other suspect Suleiman Sambo was arrested later by the Pitiku community and was handed over to the police.
The two are in police custody pending investigation.
The police are, however, requesting victims of the weekend robbery on the Kwahu Tafo-Kwahu Pitiku to report to the police station to assist in investigations.
