President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sacked three High Court judges who have been implicated in acts of bribery and corruption with immediate effect.
The judges are Ayisi Addo, Paul Uuter Dery, and Mustapha Habib Logoh who were all on suspension following investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s exposé on the judiciary.
A letter under the signature of Communication Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, stated “The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has, by letter dated Thursday, 6th December, 2018, removed Mr. Justice Ayisi Addo, Mr. Justice Uuter Paul Dery, and Mr. Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh, from office as Justices of the High Court”.
The letter added the dismissal was occasioned by recommendations of a committee established by the Chief Justice, Justice Sophia Akuffo to investigate a complaint lodged against the three judges by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Consequently, “The President, in accordance with the provisions of Article 146(9) of the Constitution, has acted on the recommendations of the Committee, as the Constitution enjoins him to do, and has, accordingly, removed the three Justices of the High Court from office on the grounds of bribery and corruption.”
President Akufo-Addo has also directed that a copy of the Committee’s report be submitted to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service “for the requisite action to be taken.”

I agree with you joe. But Anas is also more corrupt than some of the ple he exposes in his videos. For me i thing Anas is just an opportunist who is taking advantage of a common problem which is part of our daily lives in every society. Corruption is everywhere in the world but it is only Ghana that a group of ple have decided .to make money out of it. We are talking about these politicians stealing our monies every single seconds of the day and u are talking about someone who collected bribe to supplement his low income. Has Anas done any study to show us that since he started this thing corruption has been reduced? I doubt if it has. Until he start naming and shaming the politicians we should not take him serious. how can u live the root cause of a problem to be attacking the flowers/leaves that will fall off eventually. Our problem in this country is the politicians and not the judges. if the politicians do what is right, bring in developments and help creates jobs who will want to be a cr1m1nal? Let us use our common sense. Anas shd go after the politicians and let us see the results.
people like Joe Frimpong will read negative meaning into everything. That is why they are where they are. Congratulations to Anas. I thought Kwasi Nyantakyi did not hear this news. 'Asem beba dabi'
it seems our systems are breaking. corrupt persons are using all sort of means to black mail and set people up. they demand money from them and if they refuse to pay, it turns be an expose and used against them as evidence, even when it's contradicts our laws. the most sad of it all is that those who act upon the so called evidence know what they are doing is not right.
Well said Joe. By the way where’s Justice Atubuga or Atuguba? Once again shame on all the corrupt Judges
Anas is also corrupt but the judges are more corrupt, someone like Atuguba who didn't see anything wrong on unsigned pinksheet. How could you tell me unsigned document is valid whilst anybody can lay his or her hands on that pinksheet and write any figures on that. Shame to Ghanaian judges
Aaah! Joe Frimpong are you bereft of any intellectual capability, decency and common sen$£? How do you trivialise such a serious matter. These corrupt judges caught on camera have not only sent people to jail but have pronounced death sentence on others. The all powerful judiciary was caught out by Anas's expose, proper procedure of looking into their corrupt practices was initiated by the Chief Justice and following a recommendation ( LISTEN AND READ CAREFULLY (A BL-00D-Y RECOMMENDATION) )have they had their appointments terminated. Only for a pea sized brain like you to woefully attempt to trivialise and politicise such an important national issue. Few of us are lucky enough to get the opportunity to use platforms such as this to contribute to matters that affect mother Ghana. Be serious wai! and learn a bit. Sometimes give d1rt-y politics a break. I am very disappointed in you especially when you are the first to comment on this matter. There is no need for pettiness shown by you.
Anas is a tool or weapon used by corrupt people especially the corrupt politicians to destroy other corrupt people in other to have more space to be corrupt. For example, corrupt judges were destroyed by corrupt politicians (NDC and NPP), corrupt Nyantakyi was destroyed by corrupt FIFA courtesy of a corrupt mafia group from a certain coffee shop using anas and many more. Do you want to have more space to be corrupt? Is there another corrupt person in your way? All you need is anas. but be mindful that that weapon is two faced and could end up destroying you instead.
Akuffo Addo is quick to take these opportunities in order to replace them with his cronies, family and friends.
