Government is set to embark on a free mass pruning exercise for all cocoa farms in the country.
This exercise, according to COCOBOD, will help make the cocoa trees healthy as well as boost the sector.
On Thursday, 25th April, 2019, the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Hon Joseph Boahen Aidoo interacted with sit-in host of Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ and further indicated that "more extension officers are going to be employed" to help the cocoa farmers maximize their production.
Meanwhile, he has asked cocoa farmers who are skeptical about the pruning exercise to be rest-assured because ‘the aim is to make the cocoa trees better’ and not destroy them.
